Shiwar News – Tuesday, 13 October 2026: Heavy clashes reportedly began at approximately 6 a.m. between forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and armed individuals in the Chah Ahmad highlands of Taftan County.
According to reports received, military reinforcements were dispatched to the area, and the clashes were still ongoing at the time of the initial reports.
Local sources reported that the fighting took place around Mount Lup and the Arzan Tak area within Chah Ahmad. Both sides reportedly used light, medium and heavy weapons during the confrontation.
Meanwhile, Iranian state-affiliated media reported that security forces had identified and destroyed what they described as a "terrorist safe house" in Chah Ahmad, in the Kurin area of Zahedan County.
According to these media reports, security forces raided the location, and three armed individuals were reportedly killed during the operation and subsequent clearing of the area.
However, it remains unclear whether the operation reported by state-affiliated media in Chah Ahmad, Kurin, is connected to the clashes reported in the Chah Ahmad highlands of Taftan, or whether these were two separate incidents.
At the time of reporting, no independently verified information was available regarding the identities of the armed individuals, the exact number of people killed or injured, or the extent of any damage.
Further details surrounding the incidents remain unclear.
