The Woman, Life, Freedom movement marked an important period in which Baloch women and girls, despite security pressures and social restrictions, became more visible in public life. They raised their voices, increased their presence on social media and challenged certain social taboos.
However, an important question remains: Why did this widespread enthusiasm and participation not develop into a lasting collective force for Baloch women?
What social, cultural and structural barriers caused some of this participation to decline? What factors have prevented women's continued involvement in social life? And how can conditions be created so that the voices of Baloch women are not limited to periods of protest but become part of ongoing and meaningful participation in society?
In this live discussion, Fariba Baloch speaks with Mohammad Rigi Derakhshan, a Baloch writer and researcher, about Baloch women and the question of change.
The discussion focuses on Baloch women's experiences during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, the barriers they face and the importance of sustaining women's participation in society.
