Shiwar News – Thursday, 15 October 2026: A video of Meysam Bamari, a Baloch resident of Pashmouki village in Faryab County, has been released. In the video, recorded before his death, he speaks about the killing of Major Mehdi Jamshidi, a member of the military forces in the county, and refers to military forces beating his sister during protests by residents of Pashmouki village.
In the video, Meysam Bamari identifies himself as the brother of a woman who was beaten by military forces during protests in Pashmouki village on 17 June 2026. He says he was not present when the incident happened. He also states that he carried out the action he refers to and that he no longer cares what happens to him afterwards.
Meysam Bamari, approximately 29 years old, married and a father, was killed on Saturday, 10 October 2026, after security forces opened fire in Faryab County. Iranian authorities had previously claimed that he was responsible for shooting Major Mehdi Jamshidi. Jamshidi was shot and killed on the evening of Thursday, 8 October 2026, while travelling in his private vehicle in central Faryab.
During the protests on 17 June 2026 in Pashmouki village, Baloch women and other residents protested against the way a local chromite mine had been allocated and operated. Following an attack by law enforcement forces on the protesters, at least seven women were injured and six residents, including three women, were arrested.
Local sources reported at the time that protesters had been beaten with batons, punched and kicked. They also reported insulting treatment of Baloch women by military forces.
In the newly released video, Meysam Bamari refers to the beating of his sister during these protests. However, his statements about the action attributed to him and its possible connection to the treatment of his sister represent his personal account of these events. The details and the connection between the two incidents have not been independently verified.
