A Baloch man was killed on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, in Sasuli village, located in Deh-Dust-Mohammad Rural District of Hirmand County, after reportedly being shot by a border guard stationed at Watchtower No. 3 of the village's border outpost. Several hours after the incident, his body had still not been returned to his family.
The victim has been identified as Zibar Sasuli, 24, son of Abdullah, a resident and native of Sasuli village.
According to information received from local sources, at approximately 4:30 p.m., shortly after leaving his home, Sasuli was reportedly targeted by a guard stationed at Watchtower No. 3 of the border outpost. A bullet allegedly fired from a Simonov rifle struck him in the head.
Local sources said that following the shooting, Sasuli's body was not handed over to his family. His relatives continued their efforts to obtain his remains and arrange a burial ceremony.
Local sources also reported that shootings by personnel stationed at the same watchtower had previously resulted in the deaths of at least three other residents and serious injuries to another person. However, the details and circumstances of those earlier incidents have not been independently verified.
The repeated reports of fatal shootings from this watchtower raise serious questions about the use of firearms, compliance with legal regulations governing the use of lethal force, and oversight of border guard operations in the area.
At the time this report was prepared, the reason for the shooting of Zibar Sasuli, the grounds for withholding his body from his family, and the status of any investigations into similar incidents remained unknown. Border guard officials and the relevant authorities had not provided an explanation regarding these matters.
