Shiwar News – Tuesday, 27 October 2026
In the early hours of Tuesday, 27 October 2026 (5 Aban 1405), the death sentence of a 26-year-old Baloch prisoner named Habibollah Davoudi, who had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges, was carried out at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
The state execution took place without prior notification to his family, and the prisoner was denied a final visit with his loved ones.
The prisoner has been identified as Habibollah Davoudi, 26, son of Aziz, married and the father of four young children. He was originally from Zahedan and resided in Mashhad.
According to information received by Shiwar News, Davoudi was arrested in Mashhad in 1402 (2023–2024). Following his transfer to Vakilabad Prison, he was sentenced to death by the city's Revolutionary Court.
Informed sources reported that he was transferred to solitary confinement on Monday, 26 October 2026 (4 Aban 1405), and executed at dawn the following day without his family being notified in advance or given the opportunity for a final visit.
One of the prisoner's relatives stated that no drugs had been found in Davoudi's possession at the time of his arrest, but that the court had issued the death sentence without taking his defence into consideration.
According to his relatives, the Baloch prisoner was executed without being allowed a final meeting with his family. His four young children have now lost their father.
The use of the death penalty in drug-related cases, particularly where questions remain about judicial proceedings and the protection of defendants' rights, raises serious concerns regarding violations of the right to life and the right to a fair trial.
