Shiwar News – Wednesday, 7 October 2026: A video received from Jalq, the administrative centre of Golshan County, shows moments of clashes and gunfire outside the county’s police headquarters. The footage shows a Toyota Hilux, reportedly used as a support vehicle by security and police forces, positioned outside the headquarters, while gunfire can be heard in the area.
According to initial reports and information provided by local sources, armed individuals attacked the police headquarters on Imam Khomeini Street in Jalq using RPGs as well as light and medium weapons. An explosion was initially heard near the headquarters, followed by intense and sustained gunfire in parts of the city.
As the clashes unfolded, several security and police vehicles were reportedly dispatched to the area as reinforcements. According to information received by Shiwar News, at least one Toyota Hilux positioned outside the headquarters came under fire. Local sources also reported that after the vehicle was targeted, other support vehicles refrained from approaching the site of the clashes and remained stationed at a greater distance.
Meanwhile, the state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency published a different account of the incident, claiming that an explosion occurred along the route taken by two police units as they were leaving the Golshan County police headquarters, after which armed individuals opened fire.
Tasnim further claimed that one of the attackers was killed and several others were wounded during an exchange of fire with police forces. The agency also said that security forces were continuing operations to identify and pursue the remaining armed individuals.
Shiwar News has not been able to independently verify the state media claims that one attacker was killed and several others were wounded. As of the time of publication, local sources have also not confirmed this part of Tasnim’s account.
Details regarding any possible casualties among security and police forces, as well as the extent of damage to the headquarters and vehicles at the scene, have not yet been independently verified.
